On April 25, 2011 the Triangle Area Cultural Resources Emergency Network (TACREN) held free training for local cultural institutions on the Incident Command System. The Incident Command System (ICS) is an effective way to manage the response to a disaster, but it also can be used to manage any situation where lives or property might be at risk. The Incident Command System has been used across our county from major moving operations to natural disasters. It doesn’t require a large scale disaster to implement. Many organizations will use this system in their event planning for local festivals or other public events. |
