Alliance for Response Team

State of Texas Alliance for Response Team (START) Strategic Directions:

To act as a clearinghouse for resources and information about disaster planning, response and recovery, via Web sites, resource tables at conferences, etc.
To act as a Speakers Bureau and disseminate information via presentations at appropriate professional conferences by developing talking points and presentations.
To facilitate the development of the START Initiative in the State of Texas:
1. To initiate committees in regional areas of the state;
2. To facilitate the development of ongoing regional meetings within the state;
3. To act as a liaison between the regional committees and the START Core Planning Committee;
4. To develop a needs assessment instrument in order to gather information on disaster-related needs within the state of Texas;
5. To secure funding to support the development of the START Initiative; and
6. To explore methods of sustainability of the START Initiative once funded.
To provide education, outreach, and advocacy-regionally and statewide- about disaster planning, response, and recovery.
