With support from the NEA through fall 2002, Save Outdoor Sculpture! is fully documenting more than 400 permanent outdoor sculptures commissioned by NEA, Art in Public Places, between 1967 and 1992. All artworks will be surveyed using a self-assessment form. As an incentive for completing the form, 75 grants will be distributed to fund an on-site condition assessment by a conservation professional. The results of the survey will be provided
to the Inventory at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
