2003 Award for Oustanding Commitment to the Preservation and Care of Collections (Joint AIC)

The Award for Outstanding Commitment to the Preservation and Care of Collections will be given to three institutions this year: The Canadian Museum of Nature, the LuEsther T. Mertz Library of The New York Botanical Garden and the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library. Detailed information is available here. The awards will be presented in the fall. 2003 Award for Distinction in Scholarship and Conservation (Joint CAA)

The Award for Distinction in Scholarship and Conservation was given to Ernst van de Wetering for his book Rembrandt: the Painter at Work. Professor van de Wetering was celebrated on the occasion of giving a Slade lecture in Oxford in February. A stateside presentation was made on April 28 when he gave a lecture to the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation. While in the US, he also lectured at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
