New Executive Director at AIC Eryl P. Wentworth was appointed the new Executive Director of the American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works and its educational foundation FAIC earlier this year. She succeeds Elizabeth F. "Penny" Jones, who retired on December 12, 2003. Ms. Wentworth has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she provided independent consulting services to museum and historic houses while continuing to serve on local and national boards. Between 1995 and 2001, she served as the director of the Octagon, the museum of the American Architectural Foundation. Before moving to Washington, Ms. Wentworth was for 10 years the assistant director of the Valentine, an urban history museum in Richmond, Virginia. Ms. Wentworth is the vice chair of the board of Cultural Tourism DC and is on the executive committee of the Washington, DC, chapter of ArtTable. She is a panelist and field reviewer for the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Institute for Museum and Library Services, and the American Association of Museums.
