New Wheel Rolls Out

The latest edition of the Emergency Response and Salvage Wheel is now available!
This new version includes a revised Electronic Records section, water-resistant coating, and magnets for easy display.
Heritage Preservation is pleased to announce that BMS Catastrophe is the new corporate sponsor of the Wheel. BMS CAT specializes in large-scale commercial and industrial property damage restoration following fires, floods, earthquakes, and other catastrophic events and has worked with archives, libraries, museums, and historic sites in the aftermath of disasters.
Some Wheel facts:
- The Wheel has been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, French, and Spanish.
- More than 1,400 special versions of the Wheel were donated to institutions in the Southeast after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
- The Wheel was developed by preservation professionals, and it has been endorsed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other agencies.
- The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration places Wheels in all its regional facilities and regularly orders Wheels for staff training.
- Museums Alberta includes a Wheel with each copy of its popular manual, Help! A Survivor’s Guide to Emergency Preparedness.
- The National Park Service equips its Museum Emergency Response Teams with Wheels.
