Heritage Emergency Response Alliance Formed in Atlanta

The Atlanta Alliance for Response Forum, at the High Museum of Art in February 2007, resulted in the establishment of the Heritage Emergency Response Alliance (HERA). Its first meeting was hosted by Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur; the second by Emory University Libraries in Atlanta. HERA has formulated a mission statement and expects to meet quarterly.

HERA's Steering Committee convened at the end of September to discuss practical ways to implement the goals of the group, which include a shared supply cache and mutual aid agreement for the Metro Atlanta area, a table-top exercise with emergency managers, and Community Emergency Response Training (CERT). Another meeting is planned for January.
