Monument Conservation Opportunity

This marble Civil War monument in Loudon Park National Cemetery, located near Baltimore, MD, is dedicated “To the Memory of the Unknown Dead."

Heritage Preservation recently concluded the coordination of 85 assessments of historic monuments in 41 cemeteries operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, many of these monuments will have the opportunity to be conserved. For a list of current opportunities click here.
