Connecting to Collections Bookshelf
![]() |
The Bookshelf is a set of resources selected by conservation/preservation experts throughout the country. It contains informative, practical materials to help institutions sustain our heritage by improving the care of their collections. Based on the enthusiastic response, The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is offering a third round of competition to distribute an additional 1,000 sets of the IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf in 2009.
The application period for the final round of competition for the Bookshelf is now open and will conclude on March 9, 2009. The American Association for State and Local History is handling the application process and the distribution of the Bookshelf to the winners.
IMLS has awarded over 1,800 sets of the Bookshelf in the two previous application rounds to museums, libraries, and archives. The awards have been made to collecting institutions in every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam. To see the list of recipients, click here.
