Save Wet Books!
The 2010 Atlantic Hurricane season has arrived, and forecasters predict an “active to extremely active” year. Through many hurricane seasons, the Heritage Emergency National Task Force has provided information resources to help cultural institutions and historic sites prepare, respond, and recover.
This month, Heritage Preservation is introducing a new resource aimed specifically at the general public. “Save Wet Books” offers simple tips, accompanied by short video clips, on how to salvage cherished books damaged by flood waters. Adapted from Heritage Preservation’s award-winning Field Guide to Emergency Response and Emergency Response and Salvage Wheel, “Save Wet Books” provides preservation advice that you can try at home.
