Heritage Preservation celebrates
CAP’s 20th Anniversary!
![]() |
The Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year. Heritage Preservation is marking the occasion in a number of ways. First, CAP’s website features "Twenty Years of Conservation Improvements through CAP," which highlights twenty former CAP participants and the ways they have used their CAP report recommendations to raise funds, improve collections care, and meet various institutional goals. Next, articles about CAP’s twenty years of helping small to mid-sized museums have been featured in AAM’s Museum magazine and on the homepage of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Finally, CAP Coordinator Sara Gonzales along with a Museum Assessment Program peer reviewer and representatives from two small museums that have benefited from both programs will be speaking at the 2010 annual meeting of the American Association of Museums in Los Angeles. You can find them at the "Taking Your Museum to the Next Level with the Conservation Assessment and the Museum Assessment Programs" session!
