Requirements for Becoming
a CAP Assessor
Heritage Preservation must approve all assessors that participate in CAP. Assessors should meet the following requirements as recommended by the CAP Advisory Committee:
- evidence of formal conservation/preservation training
- at least five years of experience in the field
- experience conducting general assessments.
To apply, potential assessors should submit the following materials to Heritage Preservation:
- an Assessor Information Sheet (available for download on the CAP Assessor Web page)
- a current resume
- a current writing sample, such as a copy of an executive summary or list of recommendations from a previous general assessment that you authored or co-authored.
