SOS! volunteers documented and surveyed 416 outdoor sculptures in the state. Almost half the total number of sculptures are monuments to Civil War soldiers located in the Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg. Mississippi is known as the Magnolia state, and the magnolia is both the official state tree and the official state flower.
