These Are My Jewels (Levi Scofield, 1894)
Ohio was the birthplace of seven men who played important roles in the formation of the United States. The figure atop the sculpture is Cornelia, a Roman whose rich friends laughed at her for lack of jewels. In response, she presented her sons as her "jewels." Here she represents the State of Ohio remembering her famous sons. How could you discover which men are honored here?
