Artist Dan Biehl created a sculpture-on-wheels called Traveling Sphinx. The sculptural elements made over an actual vehicle were created from foam, plywood, and canvas. The piece is a female sphinx, a winged monster with the head of a woman from Egyptian lore, with clearance lights in the wings and forepaws that extend toward the trailer hitch. The sculpture traveled throughout Montana in the summer of 1995.
