To Think About:
Can you tell what kind of person he or she was by looking at the sculpture? Why is he or she famous? Why would someone make a sculpture of this person? Why is this sculpture in this particular place in this city or state? Are there symbols in the sculpture that give clues about why the person is famous? Is there a plaque that tells why this person is important?
To Do:
Find a picture of your hero and of the sculpture of your hero. You can also find or draw pictures of events that happened when your hero was alive. For example, if your hero is Martin Luther King, Jr., you could find a picture of a sculpture of him, photographs of significant events in the civil rights movement, or pictures of other civil rights leaders and monuments. These can be photographs of today or from the past.
