Armadillo-Bipedal Walking

ARMADILLO - BIPEDAL WALKING
1977 - 1980
By Paul Eppling
Located: Boyd Hill Nature Trail Park
St. Petersburg, Florida

This giant sculpture of an armadillo is actually made of old automobile bumpers, a huge heating coil and other machine parts. Paul Eppling used recycled materials donated from a construction company. Although armadillos usually walk on all four legs, they sometimes stand and walk on their back legs, using their tails for support.
