Award for Commitment to the Preservation and Care of Collections Presented

The three 2003 awards were presented this fall to Winterthur, the LuEsther T. Mertz Library of the New York Botanical Garden, and the Canadian Museum of Nature. The Winterthur presentation took place October 8 at the opening of American Accents, 1670-1945: Masterworks from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Heritage Preservation President Larry Reger and American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works President Tom Chase and Executive Director Penny Jones took part in the presentation (see photo below).

Margaret Holben Ellis presented the award to the Canadian Museum of Nature on October 11 at the Museum Trustees Association meeting in New York City. The Mertz Library was presented their award on November 13 by Tom Chase at the opening of a rare book exhibition (see photos below).

The Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library
