Award-Winning Field Guide Previews Online
Haven’t seen the award-winning Field Guide to Emergency Response? Now you can preview its DVD online! Video clips of selected scenes are posted on the Heritage Preservation Web site, www.heritagepreservation.org.

The Field Guide has received a First Place Media Award from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). Its division was Special publicationsReference Materials by a State/Regional/National/Government/Nonprofit Organization. The 2005-2006 awards were announced during IAEM’s 54th Annual Conference and EMEX 2006 Expo in Orlando, Florida.
The Field Guide was introduced last summer and has proved a success, selling nearly a thousand copies in the last five months of 2006. Designed for cultural institutions of all types and sizes, the Field Guide explains in simple, clear terms how to respond to an emergency and contains step-by-step salvage instructions, including a DVD showing how to handle the most common types of damage. Handy checklists and forms can be customized for each institution, and copies can be downloaded from the Web site. For more information, visit the online Bookstore at www.heritagepreservation.org.
Heritage Preservation produced the Field Guide with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities in support of the Heritage Emergency National Task Force, a coalition of 40 federal agencies and nonprofit organizations cosponsored by Heritage Preservation and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
